Florida Giant Vinegaroon for sale from Big Z's (Mastigoproctus giganteus). Spice-rated keeper notes, care guidance, and live-arrival packing where eligible.
A living fossil that sprays vinegar instead of stinging
Mastigoproctus giganteus, the Giant Vinegaroon, is the largest whip scorpion in the US: a 2-to-2.5-inch armored body with heavy pedipalps and a thin whip-like tail (telson) that reads the world instead of stinging. No venom, no silk, just a slow, deliberate burrower with serious presence.
It's genuinely low-risk to keep. Its only defense is a vinegar-smelling spray from the base of the tail (protect your eyes, wash your hands), and it settles well into a humid, deep-substrate burrow. A patient keeper can even handle one carefully once it's settled in. The care guide has the build and the boundaries.
The numbers live in the care guide. Enclosure size, temps, humidity, feeding schedule, premolt signs, handling boundaries: it's all in the care guide for this exact fella. Start with the full Advanced guide, or click for the quick Open the Simple version →
