About this Fella

Small frame, big color, big personality

The Pakistan Red Scorpion, Hottentotta flavidulus, is a compact buthid with rich red-orange coloring and an outsized attitude packed into a 2-to-2.5-inch body. It hails from the arid country of Pakistan, Iran, and neighbors, and it makes up in defensiveness and speed what it lacks in size.

It is a true buthid (fast, defensive, and medically significant), so it is an experienced-keeper, hands-off animal: long forceps and a catch cup for any maintenance, never fingers. For the right keeper it is a vibrant, rewarding little desert dynamo.
