Tarantula

Scorpion
This fella needs ground cover and diggable depth first, so the best checkout pair is a deep Buddy with a starter hide.
Burrow Buddy fits this fella as a juvenile, but they will outgrow it at full adult size. Plan for a larger custom terrestrial enclosure. DM Big Z anytime if you want help speccing the next step.
Hardy beginner pick with simple care. Pair with the matched habitat kit and the printable care guide.
Bulk and presence, minus the medical drama
Nebo whitei is a heavy-bodied desert scorpion from the Arabian Peninsula: stocky, dark, broad-clawed, and surprisingly chill for something that looks this imposing. Nebo are non-buthids with reduced venom, so this is a “display animal first” species: big-scorpion looks and behavior without the hot-keeper baggage.
It is an uncommon import and a great pick for a keeper stepping up from beginner desert species: enough size and attitude to stay interesting, calm enough to enjoy. Still venomous, still no hand-walking, but a forgiving animal that does well in a dry, rocky build with tight crevices to wedge into.
The numbers live in the care guide. Enclosure size, temps, humidity, feeding schedule, premolt signs, handling boundaries: it's all in the care guide for this exact fella. Start with the full Advanced guide, or click for the quick Open the Simple version →
Nebo whitei - Spice 3 — Intermediate. Baby Buddy — for 2i–3i instars (escape-proof ventilation only); Burrow Buddy — as a grow-out for juveniles; Larger terrestrial setup for full-grown adults (an adult wants roughly an 8–10 gallon floor)
