What does your fella do?

Pick how the animal lives and you get the right shape of box. Inside each lane the sizes run smallest to largest.

Keeper notes

The Buddy enclosures are clear acrylic boxes built around how a fella actually lives. Baby Buddy for slings and juveniles that need to find their food. Burrow Buddy for ground dwellers and diggers that need depth. Bark Buddy for climbers that need height and a cork slab. Twenty sizes, 3 mm and 5 mm walls, every size its own listing with its own price, and a lid that locks.

Pick the animal first. Every animal page on the site names its Habitat Match, and the Enclosure Setup Guide walks through sizing by body length and by how the species lives. Slings go in the box that fits them today, not the one they will grow into: a sling in too much space struggles to find its food.

Finish the build with substrate and a hide from Supplies. Ordered with a live animal, one small setup rides in the overnight box with the animal under the ride-along rule in our shipping policy. Larger enclosures (8 x 6 x 6 in and up) and gear-only orders ship USPS Ground Advantage by weight.

Questions keepers ask

Which Buddy does my animal need?

Climbers (pink toes, jumping spiders, bark scorpions) take a Bark Buddy: height, a cork slab, anchor points. Ground dwellers and diggers (most terrestrial tarantulas, Emperor scorpions) take a Burrow Buddy: floor space and depth. Slings and juveniles start in a Baby Buddy. Every animal page on the site names its Habitat Match.

What size enclosure does a sling need?

Small. A sling needs to bump into its food, so a 3 x 3 x 3 or 4 x 3 x 3 Baby Buddy with a few inches of substrate beats a big box every time. Move up one size after a molt or two, when the leg span is closing in on half the floor.

Do the lids lock?

Yes. Every acrylic Buddy has a locking lid, and a Spice 4 or 5 animal should never live behind anything less. The flip-top containers do not lock; they are feeding and catch cups, not homes for fast animals.

How do enclosures ship?

Gear-only orders ship USPS Ground Advantage by weight. Ordered with a live animal, one small setup (an enclosure under 8 x 6 x 6 in, a quart of substrate and a few add-ons) rides in the overnight box with the animal; the exact rule is in the shipping policy. Enclosures 8 x 6 x 6 in and up always ship in their own box.
