4 x 3 x 3 in Terrestrial Acrylic Enclosure, 3 mm

Built wide and low for the ground crew: more floor than height, so a terrestrial tarantula, scorpion or beetle gets room to roam and only a short drop if it climbs the walls. A longer floor than the three inch cube. That extra inch of length gives a small terrestrial somewhere to sit away from its water dish. The ventilated locking lid keeps air moving and the lid shut, and the clear acrylic gives you a full view of the animal and everything it builds. At 4 x 3 x 3 inches it is sized for animals up to about 1 inch of leg span (body length for scorpions). Grab one with your next animal and it is ready to set up the day it lands.

Looking after the acrylic

  • Wipe with a soft damp cloth. Acrylic scratches more easily than glass.
  • Skip abrasive pads and ammonia-based glass cleaners. Both haze the surface.
  • Keep it out of direct sun. Heat build-up is a risk to the animal before it is a risk to the box.

Enclosure only; substrate, cork and water dish are sold separately. Sizes are outside dimensions, so measure your animal against the inside and leave a little room to grow.

It's a bit too small for the sling I got, and would have liked it a bit bigger. The acrylic scratches very easily.

Hi! Thank you so much for picking up your pumpkin patch sling and enclosure from us at the expo, and for taking the time to share this. We’re really sorry it hasn’t felt like the right fit, and we want to make sure both you and your little one are set up for success. We’d love to see how things are going! If you can, snap a few photos of your sling in its enclosure, plus any spots where the acrylic has scratched, and send them to bigzshna@gmail.com. That way we can check out the setup, make sure your sling is comfortable and settling in, and take a closer look at the scratching.

We also want to reassure you on size. We designed the 4×3×3 specifically for slings in the ¼'–½' range. It can look small, but tiny slings do best in a snug space: they find their food more easily, you can keep an eye on them, and the substrate holds moisture more evenly. Pumpkin patches are a dwarf species, so this will be a cozy home for a while, and when yours is ready to move up, we’ll gladly help you pick the next size.

On the scratching: acrylic is softer than glass, so it’s more delicate. A microfiber cloth with water or a plastic-safe cleaner works best, while paper towels and ammonia-based glass cleaners tend to leave fine scratches. If you’re seeing scratches even with gentle care, we really want to know, so please include those in your photos.
