Centipede
Green Bark Centipede for sale from Big Z's (Hemiscolopendra marginata). Spice-rated keeper notes, care guidance, and live-arrival packing where eligible.
A small, hardy native centipede that never outgrows a starter tank
Hemiscolopendra marginata, the Green Bark Centipede (also called the Eastern Bark Centipede), tops out under 3 inches with a subtle green-to-blue-gray sheen. It's one of the most manageable true centipedes in the hobby, native to the southeastern US and right at home under bark and leaf litter.
Still venomous like every centipede, so it's hands-off and tool-only, but the small size and easy husbandry make it a good entry point into keeping centipedes for an experienced invert keeper. The care guide has the build and the boundaries.
The numbers live in the care guide. Enclosure size, temps, humidity, feeding schedule, premolt signs, handling boundaries: it's all in the care guide for this exact fella. Start with the full Advanced guide, or click for the quick Open the Simple version →
