The guide therefore chooses at least 5 in for larger animals plus a 1/2 to 2/3 enclosure fill and low-fall-zone test. The supplied 2.5-3 in animals use the same fill fraction scaled to their grow-out enclosure.
- Use coco fiber and topsoil or another additive-free soil mix that holds shape when packed. Anchor the hide so excavation cannot shift it. The institutional manual documents captive N. carapoensis moving considerable amounts of soil, directly supporting a stable workable substrate column.
