Antilles Pink Toe Tarantula for sale from Big Z's (Caribena versicolor). Spice-rated keeper notes, care guidance, and live-arrival packing where eligible.
Three completely different spiders in one lifetime.
Caribena versicolor, the Antilles Pinktoe from Martinique, is the species keepers point to when they want to explain why tarantulas are worth watching grow. Slings come out electric blue with a dark starburst on the carapace, juveniles pass through a green and bronze stage, and adults settle into the metallic teal, red, and pink combination the species is famous for. These arrived at 0.5 to 0.75 inches, right in the blue phase.
Spice Level 3: Intermediate. It is calm for an arboreal and not defensive, but it is fast and it is genuinely fussy about air: this is a species that suffers in a stuffy enclosure far more than in a slightly dry one. Give it height, cork to web against, and serious cross ventilation. Handling is not recommended. The matched Big Z's care guide walks through the ventilation setup in detail.
The numbers live in the care guide. Enclosure size, temps, humidity, feeding schedule, premolt signs, handling boundaries: it's all in the care guide for this exact fella. Start with the full Advanced guide, or click for the quick Open the Simple version →
