Rhopalomeris carnifex, sold here as the Candy Corn form, has cream bands, dark spots, and orange-red trim across a rounded set of body plates. The pale areas give this form a different look from the darker Candy and Rainbow Candy offerings, and the animal rolls into a tight ball when it is disturbed. Three is a better start than one. Pill millipedes are not territorial and do well kept together, so a trio fills out one enclosure of decomposed hardwood leaves and soft rotten hardwood instead of leaving a single animal alone in a box.
