About this Fella

Mexican Golden Red Rump Tarantula for sale from Big Z's (Brachypelma albiceps). Spice-rated keeper notes, care guidance, and live-arrival packing where eligible.

A golden crown on velvet, and one of the easiest tarantulas you will ever keep

Brachypelma albiceps, the Mexican Golden Red Rump, is a terrestrial burrower out of Mexico that wears a warm golden carapace over a darker, plush body. The contrast reads like polished brass laid over velvet, and it only deepens with every molt. This is a calm, classic display spider, the kind collectors keep coming back to year after year.

Care is dry-leaning and refreshingly simple: 3 to 5 inches of mostly dry substrate, one damp corner, a hide, and a water dish. Beginner-friendly at Spice 2, but it is not a handling spider. Slow does not mean safe to drop, urticating hairs are possible, and like other Mexican Brachypelma it is conservation-sensitive, so keep any paperwork with the animal. It rewards a patient, hands-off keeper who plays the long game, and the matched care guide has your full setup.

The numbers live in the care guide. Enclosure size, temps, humidity, feeding schedule, premolt signs, handling boundaries: it's all in the care guide for this exact fella. Start with the full Advanced guide, or click for the quick Open the Simple version →
