About this Fella

Florida Bark Scorpion for sale from Big Z's (Centruroides gracilis). Spice-rated keeper notes, care guidance, and live-arrival packing where eligible.

A confirmed adult female and a best-guess adult male, sold together as a pair

Centruroides gracilis, the Florida Bark Scorpion, is a slim, dark, long-legged climber that lives pressed flat against tree trunks and tucked under loose bark. Despite the name it is really a Central American species that has also naturalized in Florida. It hunts at night, scales cork like it was born on it, and lights up neon green under a UV flashlight.

Read the sexing carefully, because the two animals are not equal. The female is confirmed - sexed in hand, not guessed. The male is a best guess, not confirmed. If your project depends on a certain male, this is not the pair to build it on; if you want a known female with a likely male alongside her, it is. Both are the same wild-caught 3-to-4-inch adult stock Big Z's sells unsexed, just identified.

Gracilis tolerate each other in communal groups, so unlike most arachnid pairs these two can share one tall cork-bark build rather than needing separate enclosures. This is still a buthid with a genuine sting: hands-off, Spice 3, and best for intermediate keepers ready to respect it. Check Big Z's current live-arrival and weather policy before ordering, and read the full care guide before the box lands.

The numbers live in the care guide. Enclosure size, temps, humidity, feeding schedule, premolt signs, handling boundaries: it's all in the care guide for this exact fella. Start with the full Advanced guide, or click for the quick Open the Simple version →
