About this Fella

Mexican Flame Knee Tarantula for sale from Big Z's (Brachypelma auratum). Spice-rated keeper notes, care guidance, and live-arrival packing where eligible.

The redknee's flame-kneed cousin.

Brachypelma auratum, the Mexican Flame Knee, looks like a Mexican Redknee with the knee patches burning brighter: a black spider with a flame-red flare on each patella. These arrived at 0.5 to 0.75 inch. Slow growing, long lived, and a classic display tarantula once the color comes in.

Spice Level 2: Beginner. Terrestrial, a few inches of dry-leaning substrate, a hide, a water dish. Calm but a ready hair-kicker, so not a handling animal. A Baby Buddy fits it at this size.

The numbers live in the care guide. Enclosure size, temps, humidity, feeding schedule, premolt signs, handling boundaries: it's all in the care guide for this exact fella. Start with the full Advanced guide, or click for the quick Open the Simple version →
