About this Fella

Mexican Red Leg Tarantula for sale from Big Z's (Brachypelma emilia). Spice-rated keeper notes, care guidance, and live-arrival packing where eligible.

The Brachypelma with the black triangle on its carapace.

Brachypelma emilia, the Mexican Red Leg, is one of the classic Mexican Brachypelma: a dark body with red-orange on the leg joints and a black triangle marking on the carapace once it has some size. These arrived as 0.5 inch slings, so the adult colors are still a few molts away. Slow growing, long lived, and a ground dweller that likes a hide.

Spice Level 2: Beginner. A small terrestrial setup with a few inches of dry-leaning substrate, a hide and a shallow water dish covers it. Not a handling animal: it is calm but it kicks urticating hairs when disturbed. A Baby Buddy fits it at this size.

The numbers live in the care guide. Enclosure size, temps, humidity, feeding schedule, premolt signs, handling boundaries: it's all in the care guide for this exact fella. Start with the full Advanced guide, or click for the quick Open the Simple version →
