Arizona Vinegaroon for sale from Big Z's (Mastigoproctus tohono). Spice-rated keeper notes, care guidance, and live-arrival packing where eligible.
Arizona's own vinegaroon.
Mastigoproctus tohono, the Arizona Vinegaroon, is the Sonoran Desert whip scorpion that was lumped in with the Texas giant until it was split out as its own species in 2018. No venom, no sting, a pair of heavy pedipalps and a long tail-like flagellum, and the vinegar spray the name comes from. We measure them when they land and update the size here.
Spice Level 2: Beginner. Deep, lightly moist substrate to burrow into, a snug hide, and a shallow dish. The acetic acid spray is mild on skin and unpleasant in the eyes, so keep contact rare and gentle and wash your hands after. Read the Big Z's care guide before it arrives.
The numbers live in the care guide. Enclosure size, temps, humidity, feeding schedule, premolt signs, handling boundaries: it's all in the care guide for this exact fella. Start with the full Advanced guide, or click for the quick Open the Simple version →
