A big African burrower that treats the whole enclosure as a tunnel.

Hysterocrates gigas, the Cameroon Red Baboon, is a heavy-bodied Central African baboon spider with thick rear legs built for digging. It grows large and it spends its life below the surface, so the setup is more substrate than spider. These arrived at 1.5 inches.

Spice Level 4: Advanced. Deep, moisture-holding substrate that keeps a tunnel shape, a cork start for the burrow, a water dish, and ventilation that does not let the lower layer dry out. Old World, defensive, and strong for its size. No handling. Read the Big Z's care guide before it arrives.
