Speed, attitude, color. Read the care guide before unboxing day.
Red-and-black warpaint, and quick as a thought
Psalmopoeus victori earns its hobby name honestly: at maturity it goes full Sith Lord, deep black laced with vivid red, an arboreal stunner native to a small slice of Mexico. It is the rarest and arguably the flashiest of the Psalmopoeus trio.
Like all Psalmopoeus it is a New World spider with no urticating hairs, but do not relax: it is fast, it is flighty, and it will defend itself with a stronger-than-typical bite if cornered. That makes it a classic “graduation” spider, the one keepers use to learn fast-arboreal discipline. Ships as a tiny sling, sizes up into a deep, corked vertical home, and is strictly hands-off; respect the speed.
The numbers live in the care guide. Enclosure size, temps, humidity, feeding schedule, premolt signs, handling boundaries: it's all in the care guide for this exact fella. Start with the full Advanced guide, or click for the quick Open the Simple version →
