Florida Bark Scorpion (Centruroides gracilis)
Scorpion

Scorpion
This fella needs ground cover and diggable depth first, so the best checkout pair is a deep Buddy with a starter hide.
Burrow Buddy fits this fella as a juvenile, but they will outgrow it at full adult size. Plan for a larger custom terrestrial enclosure. DM Big Z anytime if you want help speccing the next step.
Speed, attitude, color. Read the care guide before unboxing day.
Dark body, gilded hands, and barely in the hobby
Pandinurus exitialis, the Gold Claw Scorpion, is brand new to the US scene: an East African scorpion with a deep dark body and bright golden-yellow pincers that look dipped in metal. Sturdy, hardy, and a real head-turner: the kind of animal that makes a collection look like someone has been paying attention.
It is a first-time-in-hobby listing, so availability is limited. Care sits in the intermediate lane: more forgiving than a buthid, but still venomous enough to warrant a hands-off relationship and forceps for maintenance. A great conversation-piece scorpion for a keeper who likes being early on something.
The numbers live in the care guide. Enclosure size, temps, humidity, feeding schedule, premolt signs, handling boundaries: it's all in the care guide for this exact fella. Start with the full Advanced guide, or click for the quick Open the Simple version →
