About this Fella

Arizona Blonde Tarantula for sale from Big Z's (Aphonopelma chalcodes). Spice-rated keeper notes, care guidance, and live-arrival packing where eligible.

The Arizona Blonde, from the beginning.

Aphonopelma chalcodes, the Arizona Blonde, is the tarantula of the Sonoran Desert and the one most Arizona keepers start with. These are slings at 1/4 to 1/2 inch, listed separately from our sub-adult and adult Blondes because they are a different keeping job: a small cup, a little more moisture, and patience. No locality came with this group.

Spice Level 2: Beginner. A Baby Buddy with a couple of inches of packed substrate, a starter hide and a bottle-cap dish is the whole setup. Slow growing and long lived. Not a handling animal; even the calm ones kick hairs. Read the Big Z's care guide before it arrives.

The numbers live in the care guide. Enclosure size, temps, humidity, feeding schedule, premolt signs, handling boundaries: it's all in the care guide for this exact fella. Start with the full Advanced guide, or click for the quick Open the Simple version →
