Scolopendra alternans, the Florida Keys Giant Centipede, is the largest centipede native to the United States, a Caribbean species that reaches the Keys. These are small ones. We measure each one when it lands and update the size here.

Spice Level 4: Advanced. Moisture-holding substrate deep enough to dig into, a tight-fitting lid with no gaps, a hide, and a shallow dish. Fast, defensive, and a painful bite. Hands off, tongs and a catch cup for every service.
