Desert Burrow Mix

Built for the desert diggers. Desert Burrow Mix is mostly play sand, cut with top soil, clay and granite, so it looks and drains like desert ground, and the clay lets it pack into tunnels that hold when you dampen the bottom layer. Desert scorpions and arid tarantulas get a floor they can work, and the setup looks like it came straight out of the Sonoran. Grab a bag with your desert fella and set it up the way it lives.

Good to know

• Keep the top dry and dampen only the bottom layer for desert species.
• Quick math: inside length x width x depth, in inches, is the cubic inches you need. A 1 qt bag (a US dry quart) is about 67 cubic inches, and substrate settles when you pack it, so round up a bag.

Hydrate to the species, not the bag.
