Big Z's notes
About this Fella
Vietnam Silver Earth Tiger Tarantula for sale from Big Z's (Ornithoctoninae sp. "Vietnam Silver"). Comes with a Spice rating and a care guide, and ships packed for the weather.
A silver-sheened Vietnamese earth tiger, started from a captive-bred sling.
The Vietnam Silver is an undescribed earth tiger from mountain forest in Vietnam, sold under its hobby name as Ornithoctoninae sp. "Vietnam Silver". Adults are reported around 5 to 6 inches of leg span with a silver-gray sheen that builds over several molts; slings are plain brown, so the color is something you grow into. It is a deep burrower you will rarely see, which is the point for keepers who want a pet hole with real attitude at the door.
Spice Level 5: Extreme. Old World, fast, defensive, and the venom is medically significant. We treat it as keeper-only, no-handling territory and a display animal. Setup follows our Asian earth tiger protocol: a Baby Buddy packed deep with firm soil, a cork-roofed starter burrow, a damp lower layer under a dry top, cross vents and a small water dish. House alone, plan every lid opening, and have the catch cup in hand before the lid comes off. It bolts upward when disturbed, so open low over a table. The Big Z's care guide walks through the setup, feeding and molt precautions.
What you get: one captive-bred, unsexed sling at about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Species ID is the trade name; it is not yet described to species. Ships live on FedEx Overnight with the Live Arrival Guarantee on overnight orders.
Full care is in the care guide. It covers enclosure size, temperature, humidity, feeding, molting signs and handling limits for this species. Read the Advanced guide, or the shorter Simple guide →
